Driven by its commitment to establishing a leading infrastructure for the media sector, the General Authority for Media Regulation regulates and oversees this sector within a framework that ensures a clear methodology for all stakeholders, including beneficiaries, establishments, and workers in the field, in accordance with the Kingdom's media policy. The authority is steadfastly moving forward to develop all types of activities related to the media sector and monitor media content to ensure the provision of high-quality services and diverse media content. It aims to enhance entertainment options for consumers while ensuring market transparency and reinforcing the enduring values of the Kingdom. Looking towards the future, the authority aims to develop media talent, enhance locally produced content, increase the contribution of the media sector to job creation, and adopt the latest trends and best practices at both regional and global levels. In contribution to achieving Vision 2030, the authority works on creating an investment-friendly environment to empower national media companies, attract foreign direct investments, and stimulate economic activity in media-related fields. Established by Cabinet Decision No. 236 on 21 Rajab 1433 AH, the General Authority for Audiovisual Media operates as an independent legal entity with financial and administrative independence. In Shawwal 1433 AH, the authority's regulations were approved, including the establishment of a board of directors chaired by the Minister of Media.
